LOCATION Pointe aux Canonniers
Concealed behind huge oak doors, in an coconut grove surrounded by private estates, is the hide-away of one of the best kept secrets of Mauritius, hotel 20°Sud (20°South), the first "boutique" hotel on the island; a small haven of luxury in a truly charming environment and tropical setting.
It has a privileged position on the waterfront in the north west of the island, overlooking Grand Baie, the little "St Trop" of Mauritius.
The decor of this petit bijou property is exclusively by the Belgian interior designer FLAMANT HOME INTERIORS. The rooms have specially selected furnishings and antiques, creating an intimate "home from home" atmosphere.
Each bedroom is different, in keeping with the intimacy and exclusivity of the boutique hotel concept.
This charm and refinement evokes a feeling of being in a world apart, and inspires a club environment.
Small, charming and refined; it is evident that such hotels exist elsewhere in the world. But not in Mauritius, this is the only one, reminiscent of the Moroccan Riads and certain small hotels in Provence. This hotel is unique!

The hotel overlooks the huge bay, sheltered from the waves and with a continual light breeze all year round, making it a perfect location for windsurfers and catamaran lovers. In fact, it is a paradise for sailing in all its forms, such as putting a Hobbie Cat through its paces, or trying out the new generation of sail board; equally, guests may book an instructor, preferably from May to October in order to have the best wind.
